Sloane

I'm not proud of the things I've done.
The things I've had to do.
The things I've given away.
but I'd give it all over again to find her.

Even if i die trying,
I have to find Alexis.

Zeth

She wants me to help her,
But I won't.
She wants me to save her sister,
But I can't.
She wants me to be her hero,
But I'm not a good man.

I am her damnation.

At the heart of the story we have Sloane a determined Mid-20's old Doctor, going through the motions all the while dealing with the the pain of the disappearance of her sister. Her search brings her in contact with Zeth as she proves the lengths she will go to in order to shed light on her sisters whereabouts.

I think the Title of the novella sums up Zeth nicely, as well as The Oxford Dictionary definition:

deviant
Line breaks: de|vi¦ant
Pronunciation: /ˈdiːvɪənt
ADJECTIVE

Departing from usual or accepted standards, especially in social or sexual behaviour.

That being said there is a side to Zeth I find endearing and I dare say verging on sweet.

"... Don't bother running. I'll only have to come find you. Stay here and be with me. I'll make it worth your while."

Without giving too much away what ensues when Sloane and Zeth come together can only be described as her sexual awakening.

There is a solid, well written storyline; with character background and room for development as well as intriguing secondary characters such as Lacey.

Bring on Fracture!
