Excerpt:

“You’re good, Nick. You know just what to do and how to behave. This is why you attract women in droves.”
I kind of want to protest. I feel like she has this impression of me that I don’t necessarily want her to have, but I’m not sure how to deflect this. “Because I have a gift?”
“That and several other reasons.” She waves broadly at my arms. It’s October, but it’s not chilly tonight so I don’t have a jacket on. “First, there are the arms. All that ink and muscle.”
She roams her eyes over my biceps. “I mean, your ink is awesome,” she says, pointing to the shapes and swirls I designed myself. The tattoos are abstract lines and curves, but inside them there’s a sun, a moon, and stars, because those were the first things I realized I was good at drawing.
“Then, the body. Mr. Men’s Health-I’m-so-fit,” she says in this mocking tone, but it’s not me she’s making fun of. It’s the article.
     “You read it?”
“I read everything. I devour information,” she says, and we’re right back to that place I seem to inhabit with her, where she compliments me, but she could be saying it like I’m a car she’s considering buying. And this one has one hundred seventy horsepower.
“And then, there’s your face, and you have all this awesome scruff on it.”
I run a hand over my jaw, and the neat, trim beard that’s like an additional sex toy I can bring to the bedroom. “Chicks dig the beard,” I say, with a lopsided grin.
“I bet they do,” she says under her breath. She doesn’t say anything else right away. She presses her teeth into the corner of her lip and then speaks, more softly than before. “Can I feel it?”
     FUCK, YES.
She raises her hand and touches my jaw. My breath hitches as she runs her thumb across the light bristles. I’m keenly aware of every second that passes, one ticking into the next as she touches me, stroking my jawline like she’s mesmerized by the texture.
“Soft,” she whispers, almost in wonder as she stares at my chin. My heart starts hammering, and I fight to stay still. When she says, “But kind of hard, too,” I swear, I don’t know how I manage not to cup her cheeks, back her up against the stone wall, and just kiss the hell out of her. Kiss, touch, grind, and then some. I want to yank that lush body against mine, let her feel how much she turns me on, and find out if I do the same thing to her. The way her breath barely catches sends my mind spinning and lust spiraling tight in me. I can’t help but hope she wants what I do, and it feels like she could, going by the way she touches my face. It truly fucking does, and maybe that’s why her name takes shape in my throat like a warning.
So she knows she’s playing with fire if she touches me like this again.

ABOUT MISTER O:

✮✮✮MISTER O will be available on Kindle on release day May 2!✮✮✮

Just call me Mister O. Because YOUR pleasure is my super power.

Making a woman feel 'oh-god-that's-good' is the name of the game, and if a man can't get the job done, he should get the hell out of the bedroom. I'm talking toe-curling, mind-blowing, sheet-grabbing ecstasy. Like I provide every time.

I suppose that makes me a superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to always deliver.

But then I'm thrown for a loop when a certain woman asks me to teach her everything about how to win a man. The only problem? She's my best friend's sister, but she's far too tempting to resist--especially when I learn that sweet, sexy Harper has a dirty mind too and wants to put it to good use. What could possibly go wrong as I give the woman I've secretly wanted some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?

No one will know, even if we send a few dirty sexts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those f*&k-me-eyes on the train in front of her whole family.

The trouble is the more nights I spend with her in bed, the more days I want to spend with her out of bed. And for the first time ever, I'm not only thinking about how to make a woman cry out in pleasure --I'm thinking about how to keep her in my arms for a long time to come.

Looks like the real Adventures of Mister Orgasm have only just begun....

**MISTER O is a standalone romantic comedy and it follows supporting characters first introduced in BIG ROCK**

"A sexy, delicious, toe-curlingly good time!"

Ever since Nick Hammer was introduced in Big Rock, I was dying to get my hands on his story. How many books have you read where the hero has a successful animated dirty superhero show? I'm going to guess none. Just like me.

Nick is a sexy former nerd with glasses, he's tatted, scruffy, and oh-so-charming. He has a little bit of an arrogant and conceited side, but he was so down to earth at the same time you can't help but get a cheesy grin all over your face when you get inside his filthy mind. Especially since that mind is directed toward his best friend's sister-the sexy redhead who stars in all of his burning, forbidden fantasies.

He's secretly had a crush on Harper ever since they played a prank on Spencer and pretended to kiss. Turns out, that was the trigger that flipped his switch from platonic to spank the naughty librarian. Once it was turned on, there was no going back. To his eternal frustration, he can't seem to stop fantasizing about doing a multitude of very non-friend like things to Harper.

Her neck is long and elegant, and I've got this feeling her skin tastes spectacular there, and everywhere. I wonder if she'd enjoy soft, lingering kisses along her neck, across the column of her throat, up to her ear. Whether she'd moan, and sigh, and lean into me, her body asking for more.

I loved it. I loved seeing him try to resist what he was feeling, his thoughts were hilarious, the humor on-point. I couldn't get enough.

She operates at this constant state of verbal banter that's flirting, but not quite flirting. The net effect? I'm a cat, and she's working the laser pointer.

Nick has resigned himself to his secret lust being unfulfilled. Harper seems to be completely indifferent to him as a man, and he's not about to cross that line anyway. Until he discovers Harper's embarrassing secret: She's completely rattled and awkward around men. Being a professional illusionist for children's parties doesn't leave her much adult socializing time.

So they make a deal: She hangs with him at functions to to ward off the unwanted female attention he gets. He gives her lessons on how to lose her awkward.

"Princess Clueless, you're about to get an education in all things you're oblivious to."

Let's chat a minute about Harper. She was just the sweetest heroine, and as naive as she was about men, she had Nick wrapped around her little finger. Her flirty but innocent comments soon started a round of sexy texting that had my internal temperature rising. They were flirting with danger, playing a provocative game that could only end in disaster.

My throat goes dry. My bones heat up. This girl and her innuendoes will kill the last remaining non-sex focused brain cells.

When Harper's brother and his new wife leave to go on their Honeymoon all bets are off. While Spencer is away, Harper and Nick play.

Harper and Nick agree on a short fling, but things quickly start getting more complicated than they had anticipated. Though there was a small conflict towards the end, the book was relatively drama free and that was something that I appreciated. It was all about the two of them exploring their deeper feelings and finding the courage to reach for their true desires.

Another thing I enjoyed abut Mister O was the fact that Nick may have been experienced with women, but he was no typical one-night stand manwhore. He likes to call himself a "serial monogomist". In other words, he's more of a short relationship type of guy with lots of women. He's all about learning how to please a woman, and please her multiple times I might add. He's not about using women as sex objects for one night and throwing them away like disposable trash. I'm at the point where I think I need a break from the overdone bad boy manwhore. I think I'm burnt out on them, and it was refreshing to not have to read another one. This hero is respectful, affectionate, and generous. I guarantee, there's plenty for you to fall in love with in Nick Hammer.

This is one of those books that fulfilled everything it promised. I was expecting a witty rom-com with an abundance of delightful sexy times. And that's exactly what I got. I was laughing and fanning myself from one minute to the next. Mister O has a unique set of characters that were really noteworthy. They were original, endearing, and more than a little seductive.

Nick's brother Wyatt is getting his own book next and I'm really looking forward to seeing him meet his match. I highly recommend this one if you like male POV books, this one was done exceptionally well and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Christie's review: Back to Yesterday by Pamela Sparkman

Title: Back to Yesterday
Series: Standalone
Author: Pamela Sparkman
Release date: May 2, 2016
Cliffhanger: No
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis:

Everyone loves a good love story. The stories that make you feel warm all over. The kind that leaves you the slightest bit envious because the story belongs to someone else and not you. The stories that make your heart race and on the edge of pain and pleasure. Pain because your heart hurts and pleasure because your heart hurts. An unlikely combination, yet, that’s the stuff good love stories are made of.

Ours could have been like that. We could have made a beautiful love story.
But when he was ready for that epic love story, I was afraid to fall in love, too hurt by my past to trust anyone. Then, when I was ready for the epic love story, he was gone.
And I was alone.
And the only thing I got was the pain.
It was time I told him the things that were in my heart but too afraid to say out loud.

I wrote the letter I needed to write and prayed it wasn't too late.

Dear Charlie,

You were right. I was wrong. I've never been more wrong in my life.
There - I said it.
I’ll say it a million times if you just come back to me.
Come back to me. Please!

I was so wrong. I do love you.

Sophie

I've been following this author since her first book Stolen Breaths. This is the first time where I've been lucky enough to beta read for her, and what an experience it was! To see this story grow from a vague idea to its polished, finished form was an eye-opening experience. I know first hand how important the author worked to breathe life into Charlie and Sophie.

The emotions she was able to wring out of me swung from anxiousness, elation, tension, to grief-stricken. Having met Sophie as Cooper's matchmaker grandmother in the Stolen Breaths series, I was excited to get Miss Sophie's history. Because you can't fully know the present until you understand the past. This is the story of what molded a family. And the struggles of a war torn couple that are more than most can comprehend. Sacrifices had to be made and lives were ravaged, all for the sake of freedom.

Sophie is a young woman who guards her heart closely. She's someone who's comfortable in her own skin, speaks her own mind, and holds the wounds of the past as a shield against false promises. But war is a time where there are no promises. No guarantees of a happy ending when putting yourself in enemy lines.

“I need someone who will care about me if I don’t come back. I need someone to care about me, Sophie.” My eyes skirted over her head and up towards the moon. I closed my eyes and quietly said again, “I don’t have anyone and I need someone. I desperately need that someone to be you.”

Charlie is an Army pilot on leave while his leg heals from an injury. From the first moment they collide, he starts to charm his way into her life. Not deterred by her resistance, he pursues her with an old-fashioned sweetness that sweeps you back to the 1940's. It's a time when Big Band music, swing dancing, classic American diners, and white picket fences were all the eye could see.

Pamela knows how to write the quintessential beta hero and Charlie is her best in my humble opinion. Her heroes are ones that cherish, worship, and treat their women to a kind of classic romance that has fallen away from the genre.

“I kissed him the way he kissed me and met each touch, each caress, with the same patience, the same reverence as he administered. He made me forget who I was and reminded me of the person I wanted to be.”

I've said it before, but it's such a refreshing thing to read, it's like cleansing your palate after reading so many dominating and abrasive heroes.

She slips Charlie and Sophie effortlessly into our hearts and minds through flashbacks in dual POV. We get pieces of "today" and moments of "yesterday" that come together in a way that she slowly allows us to see what the final fate of Charlie is to be. She really examines the desperation of the time, and how loved ones had to learn to survive their own emotional battles at home. The uncertainty of it all, the feeling that life was hanging on a thread, you feel all of it right along with Sophie.

This was a beautiful love story. A story of survival, faith, and trusting that love will triumph through the darkness. Though it has plenty of angst and sorrow, there are enough moments of laughter and hope to balance the scales. To be honest, historical romance is not one I read very often, this era in particular. But I never felt like I was outside my comfort zone, this story just feels natural and necessary. For me, it was the perfect conclusion to this wonderful family, I'm more than a little sad to see them go.

Back to Yesterday will sweep you in to another time. Simpler in some ways, but filled with complexities in others. I can't recommend this enough if you're looking for something a little different than what's out there. Just arm yourself with tissues, you're going to need them.

Release Blitz: Stars by Malorie Verdant

STARS
by Malorie Verdant
 APRIL 30th!

He changed my life.
With a smile, a flick of his wrist and a death-defying stunt.
He was six and I was five.
And now, thirteen years later, I am hopelessly in love.
There is only a slight problem.
He doesn’t know I exist.
He’s the star quarterback.
I’m a science nerd who hides in the shadows.
I don’t need anyone to tell me that college won't change anything.
I know he’s the star of this story.
And I belong in the audience.

Parker Elliot is going to Penmore State University miles away from home. She's leaving her small town because Penmore has a fantastic science department, because she needs to begin exploring the life she wants to lead and because Grayson Waters is the starting quarterback for the Penmore Herons.

Grayson Waters at first glance lives life to the fullest, but he is dealing with more than meets the eye. A con artist father in trouble with local mobsters, an illegitimate brother living close by, the pressure of leading his team to the championship game and a desire to pursue a career outside the football field. Decisions need to be made. For Gray, slipping into the shadows with a pretty and observant brunette might be just what he needs to finally make the right ones.

I first started reading romance when I was twelve.

My mother handed me her copy of Nora Robert’s Midnight Bayou and with resignation said, “Here you’ll love it, just skip the sex scenes or at least tell me you did.”

She knew I was young and she hoped I didn’t understand the diverse innuendos, but she also saw early on that I was a hopeless romantic and had a joy and thirst for romance novels that not even she and her protective motherly instincts could stop.
