Landon Stone has it all. He’s the star quarterback for one of the powerhouse teams in a professional football league, has a beautiful supportive wife cheering him on, and plenty of money to support him for the rest of his life. In the blink of an eye, it all comes crashing down as every player’s worst fear unfolds right in front of his eyes. With nothing left, he finds himself going back to where it all started.

Autumn McCray has lived in the same small town her whole life. Being tormented and bullied throughout high school she has those constant reminders surrounding her every day. Having put most of those demons behind her, she’s forced to confront them once again and find her inner strength in order to move forward.

With Landon and Autumn’s paths crossing, they both are faced with obstacles they never imagined they would have to overcome. Will they help each other with their struggles or be left to tackle them on their own?

London Stone had everything most men wish for. As an athlete he was popular football player on the top of his game; he was good on the field and enjoyed playing ball. Thanks to playing he was wealthy and could buy all he wished for. On his side was a beautiful, ‘caring and supporting’ wife, Valerie. He also had a body of a model, so what more could he want?

Unfortunately, one game gone wrong changed everything. After tearing his ACL he had to retire and he lost every single thing. Football, money, fame and his wife were gone. He had to go back to his hometown and start his life from the beginning.

Autumn McCray is a girl he met in high school. Someone he knew of, but never really had a contact with. When he was playing the king of the school, Autumn was hiding from bullies in toilets. As a teenager she was very overweight and kids made her life living hell. Even years later and many pounds lighter Autumn still hadn’t really let go of her past and her insecurities.

They share incredible chemistry. The sparks fly between them. But there are many obstacles before them; Autumn’s insecurities, London’s divorce to name a few.

Rachael Duncan’s debut novel is intriguing, very well written romance and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It’s a story about finding not only love but self-confidence and self-assurance.

However, I had a hard time with Autumn’s anxieties. I understood them pretty well, maybe even a little bit too much, and they were painful reminders for me. After a while, I tried really hard to not wince while reading about Autumn’s weight loss and I wanted badly to stop thinking of her as me.

Besides that, I found this book lovely. From the first pages I seemed to connected with London and I liked him very much. The plot was interesting enough and sex scenes where hot, so that’s a big plus! I think even readers who don’t enjoy reading sports romance would appreciate this one.

Overall, Tackled By Love was a very nice surprise. It’s a story your worth time and certainly is something you should give a shot. If you want a nice, entertaining and sexy book about football player then you are in for a great time.
