Blurred Lines

Title: Blurred Lines
Series: standalone
Author: Lauren Layne
Release Date: 25 August, 2015
Rating: 4 stars
Cliffhanger:. No

In a novel that's perfect for fans of Abbi Glines and Jessica Sorensen, USA Today bestselling author Lauren Layne delivers a sexy take on the timeless question: Can a guy and a girl really be “just friends”?

When Parker Blanton meets Ben Olsen during her freshman year of college, the connection is immediate—and platonic. Six years later, they're still best friends, sharing an apartment in Portland's trendy Northwest District as they happily settle into adult life. But when Parker's boyfriend dumps her out of the blue, she starts to wonder about Ben's no-strings-attached approach to dating. The trouble is, even with Ben as her wingman, Parker can't seem to get the hang of casual sex—until she tries it with him.

The arrangement works perfectly . . . at first. The sex is mind-blowing, and their friendship remains as solid as ever, without any of the usual messy romantic entanglements. But when Parker's ex decides he wants her back, Ben is shocked by a fierce stab of possessiveness. And when Ben starts seeing a girl from work, Parker finds herself plagued by unfamiliar jealousy. With their friendship on the rocks for the first time, Parker and Ben face an alarming truth: Maybe they can't go back. And maybe, deep down, they never want to

‘Friends to lovers’ is one of my favorite tropes in romance. I desperately crave those stories, and to put it out there: they are my obsession. I want my lover to be my friend. So of course I needed to read Blurred Lines. I loved every other book Lauren Layne’s published so I knew this one would be a sweet treat. I was not disappointed.

Blurred Lines is sweet, adorable story – from the very simple yet entertaining plot to cute characters, Lauren Layne created nice, heart fluttering romance that will have every romantic panting for more. If you want butterflies in your belly kind of read, Ben and Parker’s story is a good choice.

The storyline as I mentioned is quite simple, as the title suggest, the lines between friendship and something more quickly blur when sex comes into equation. It happens all the time, but for some strange reason Ben and Parker thought they won’t be impacted by… feelings. They were friends and roommates for many years and they have never felt toward each other anything more, but of course it changes when they give into their desire and fall between the sheets…

The story may be predictable, but it just so sexy and light and relaxing I didn’t mind one bit. I loved how lighthearted it was, so easy to follow that you forget about real life problems for a while. I really needed that. The angst was enough to keep me on my toes, plot very engaging and with great flow.
