Summary:

Livie has always been the stable one of the two Cleary sisters, handling her parents' tragic death and Kacey's self-destructive phase with strength and maturity. But underneath that exterior is a little girl hanging onto the last words her father ever spoke to her. “Make me proud,” he had said. She promised she would...and she’s done her best over the past seven years with every choice, with every word, with every action.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she’s dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes, set herself up for medical school, and meet a good, respectable guy that she’s going to someday marry. What isn’t part of her plan are Jell-O shots, a lovable, party animal roommate she can’t say ‘no’ to, and Ashton, the gorgeous captain of the men’s rowing team. Definitely him. He’s an arrogant ass who makes Livie’s usually non-existent temper flare and everything she doesn’t want in a guy. Worse, he’s best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fits Livie’s criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn’t have, she’s forced to let go of her last promise to her father and, with it, the only identity that she knows.

Review:

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher Atria Books.

After reading Ten Tiny Breaths in December last year, I knew I would read everything by K. A Tucker, because she's an awesome author that done really good job with creating heart shattering new adult romance story between Kacey and Trent. I loved Ten Tiny Breaths so much that I've highly anticipated the sequel.

One Tiny Lie is a story that follows Livie, Kacey's sister. She's different from her easy going, wild and snarky  badass sister. She the sensible one, the one who knows what to do in her life and how to act. That Cleary sister has her life planned out.   Livie's starting her first year at Princeton, filled with hope, solid plan and great aspirations. The only thing she wants to do is make her dead father proud. So she's making decisions he'd highly recommend, she goes to Princeton, because he studied there, she's choosing medical school and being a good girl all her life, cause she feels she needs to. But life changes quickly, and when she's thrown into new enviroment, where the old rules are starting to vanish, she's starting to see that the life she thought will be good for her, isn't what she needs.
After party filled with orange, green and blue Jello - O shots, smokin' hot Jello - O thief and one tattoo, Livie's not the same perfect little schoolgirl.

K. A Tucker wowed me again, but this time, she's done it in different way. While Ten Tiny Breaths were tragic and heart breaking on every level, One Tiny Lie is a story about finding yourself and "soul searching". This time I had occasion to see Livie in different light. She's making her own mistakes and learning from them. She's choosing her path in life.

I was happy to see Dr. Stayner as well, his appearance through the book was funny, sweet and sneaky. I'd like to have a psychiatrist like this too. Life with him would be a great experience.
