Cliffhanger: Yes

Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, an organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge’s son Sinclair—until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She’s always known this undertaking would place her life in danger—she never imagined her heart would be as well.

Revenge. For the last eighteen years Bleu MacAllister has been consumed and driven by revenge. Revenge for the man who murdered her mother and left her seven year old self, Stella Bleu Lawrence for dead.

Reborn as “Bleu MacAllister” with the help of ex FBI agent and adopted father Harry, the time has come to strike. To get to the father Thane, she will go through the son. Sinclair “Sin” Breckenridge, Heir to the Scottish Criminal Organisation known as The Fellowship and Bleu’s way in.

Sin is initially suspicious of outsider Bleu and makes it his business to keep an eye on her. His interest turns to intrigue and the pair embark on a dangerous affair. Although we are privy to Bleu’s reasoning, her lines become blurred. Her need for revenge is paramount but her feelings for Sin cause conflict.

If playing devils advocate I could question how years of planning could have easily been sidetracked by her relationship with Sin. Having witnessed it however, it’s surprisingly understandable. Their relationship is ill fated, passionate, unconventional but they are kindred in many ways and I couldn't get enough.

“I love you, Bleu MacAllister. I’ll always do what it takes to keep you safe, no matter the extreme.”

I’m incredibly guilty of oversimplifying this review, there are many things afoot and I for one have my theories. The Next Sin can’t come soon enough.

As the saying goes “Revenge is a dish best served cold” but not when Sin’s involved, to quote Bleu herself “He’s hotter than a freshly fucked fox in a forest fire.”
