Review: Midnight Frost (Mythos Academy #5) by Jennifer Estep

Title: Midnight Frost (Mythos Academy #5)
Author: Jennifer Estep
Release Date: 30th July
Rating: 4 stars

Here we go again …

Just when it seems life at Mythos Academy can’t get any more dangerous, the Reapers of Chaos manage to prove me wrong. It was just a typical night at the Library of Antiquities — until a Reaper tried to poison me. The good news is I’m still alive and kicking. The bad news is the Reaper poisoned someone else instead.

As Nike’s Champion, everyone expects me to lead the charge against the Reapers, even though I’m still hurting over what happened with Spartan warrior Logan Quinn. I’ve got to get my hands on the antidote fast — otherwise, an innocent person will die. But the only known cure is hidden in some creepy ruins — and the Reapers are sure to be waiting for me there …

Gwen Frost is back and she ain't afraid to kick some Reapers' asses!

I was provided with an advanced electronic copy of this book in return of an honest review. This review will be also posted on Smokin’ Hot Book Blog closer to the release date.

As always, at the beginning of my Mythos Academy Review, my great respects go to Jennifer Estep for creating this shamelessly enjoyable read, that will be one of my favorites young adult series forever. She’ve done fantastic job with Midnight Frost, and I feel miserable thinking that Gwen’s shenanigans will end soon. There’s only one book left! Killer Frost will be released in March 2014 and then I’ll hope for spin-off.

Anyway Gwen is back and she’ s not afraid to kick some Reapers’ asses.  She’s heartbroken over what happened between her and Logan, and despite the fact she’s moping and brooding, she’s doing everything she can to find artifacts and kill Loki.

Now, that everyone know she’s Nike Champion, she’s a priceless target for every Reaper and so are her friends. Between classes, trainings with Oliver and work in Library she’s trying to find a way to save the world. Mix it with heartache, nightmares and bloodthirsty Vic, Gwen has to grow up really fast. Which she does.

Midnight Frost is different than rest of the series. It’s a book about growing up, adventure and picking up the pieces of Gwen’s life.
I loved everything, the storyline was intriguing and fast paced, characters amusing and good written.  I’m looking forward to 6th installment.
