I loved Megan Vernon The Only Exception, it was funny, sweet and adorable, but her second book, is even better! It's stunning story, that I'll definitely be rereading soon. This unputdownable read left me breathless and extremely satisfied. I really adored characters, which were perfected to almost every detail, and the fact that The Only One is not only a sweet romance but also touches another deep topic, that ever girl should be aware of, makes it even better.
Melanie is perfect student and daughter. She’s never done anything crazy or wild. Living in the buble she made for herself, Mel feels patethic. On Halloween night she and Monica went to Alpha Mu on a party, where Mel meets John Boy. Smokin’ hot, tatted jock, that is totally different person than she thought he is. John is even Harry Potter’s fan! But despite John’s hotness, Melanie feels she need to protect herself from him, because she’s not one night stand material. While her heart doesn’t listen to mind, something else happenes, something that probably will change her life.
I devoured this delicious novel in few hours, and I'm still grinning remembering some of the scenes involving John Boy’s charm. Every romance junkie should adore this fabulous read that melts hearts and John Boy makes it impossible not to laugh or swoon. He’s the character that totally stole the show, and girls he did rock it.
The scenes between John Boy and Melanie are perfectly written, and are absolutely amazing blend of the best sides of relationship, they made my heart swell. John’s protectiveness made me swoon! It was fantastic to see this side of him, so different and extremely out of jock stereotype.
This book is a nice entertainment for lonely night and everything a girl could dream of. Megan Vernon has done a good job, and I'll be looking forward to read her next novel.
