“Lena, you seen my old black Led Zep shirt?”
“Nope.”
“You sure?” His brows became one dark cranky line. The scratches on his face were healing well, thank goodness. Though it didn’t reduce my desire to throttle his mother on a daily basis.
“Yes. I haven’t seen it.”
Can’t find it anywhere…”
“And this is a surprise, how?” I slipped my hands into my back jean’s pockets. “Jimmy, you own more clothing than Cher, Brittney, and Elvis, put together. Things are bound to go missing.”
“Sure you haven’t seen it?”
“For goodness sake, what do you think, Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?” I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I’d sunk so despicably low.
I hadn’t even meant to steal the stupid thing, but the shirt had been mixed up with my laundry a few days ago. It’d been the first top I laid my hand on after stepping out of the shower, ready to go to bed. Without thought, I’d put it on and it’d been so soft, the scent of him lingering beneath the laundry detergent. Every night since, I’d found myself in it come bedtime. My shame knew no limits. And no, I still hadn’t quit. The words still hadn’t come even close to leaving my mouth.
He frowned. “No.”
“That I have some deep secret longing to feel close to you resulting in my stealing your shirt like some creepy perv?”
“Course I don’t fucking think that,” he replied crankily, reaching up to grip the top of the doorframe. All of his bulging muscles stretched the arms of his white T-shirt in the nicest way. It was all I could do not to start drooling, my heart beat taking up residence somewhere down between my thighs. And who could blame it? Not me. Maybe if I got laid, this would go away and things would return to normal. It’d seemed safer to avoid rubbing up against any men just in case I got carried away and started dating again. This new situation, however, changed everything.
“Well, of course not! That would be crazy.” And wasn’t that the god’s honest truth? Cray-zeee. Lock me up and throw away the key because it wasn’t like I didn’t know better.
“Just can’t figure out where the hell it could be.”
Angels couldn’t have smiled as innocently. They might have tried, but they would have failed, the dirty-mouthed, winged, little liars. “Jimmy, I don’t know where it is. But I’ll look around for it later, okay?”
“Yeah,” he said, and then added as an afterthought, “and stop looking at me weird.”
“I’m not!”

I’ve been sitting here all day staring at the blank page and trying to put in words how amazing was Kylie Scott newest addition in Stage Dive Series; how much fun I had while reading it, how perfectly sweet, dynamic and intense Lena and Jimmy’s story was. Well, it’s not an easy task to accomplish – I feel that writing down ‘I loved it’ is not enough. The awesomeness of Lead just cannot be sufficiently described . So yeah, I had a really hard time writing this review; I wanted to be at least 50% as fantastic as the book was. I’m still sure though, it’s not even 5% of it, but I hope you’ll get the memo: BUY AND READ LEAD. NOW.

After Jimmy hit the rock bottom and the band decided to put an ultimatum on him, stay sober or get out of the band, the lead vocalist had no choice – he had to pick up the pieces of his broken life or guys, who were like his family, would leave him alone.

Afterward successful few months in rehab Jimmy is back in band but Stage Dive members make him hire ‘sobriety companion’. Someone who will be almost like assistant, making sure Jimmy doesn’t drink or gets high.

This was Jimmy is all his glory, rude as fuck and not a single social nicety to him.

When Jimmy’s bad attitude toward his companions made them all leave, boys hired spunky, full of sass and wit Lena. A woman that doesn’t take Jimmy’s shit and keeps him in check with her sharp tongue. The banter between two main characters started immediately and the sparks flew everywhere.

“Why are you two always kicking each other?” Ben asked, interrupting the heated looks. “Just out of interest?”

Jimmy shrugged. “Everyone has their hobbies, Ben.”

Lena quickly found out Jimmy’s more than s.o.b and sobering junkie; she saw the real him; gentle and fragile man, talented musician and good friend. She started caring for him much more than she should.

“I’d been ‘in love’ before, sure. The difference here was, I loved him, all of him, and there’d be no easy getting over it this time. Every part of me wanted him, I yearned for him on the cellular level. There could be no escaping emotions of this magnitude. His good and bad, dark and light, his nice parts and his nasty.
Everything he was, I loved, and it left me feeling utterly helpless.”

Jimmy knows he’s not man worthy of a girl like Lena. So he tries to do everything in his power to make her stop crushing on him… But so far the chemistry sizzles and their relationship develops even more.

After reading two previous books in Scott’s series, which of course I loved, I wasn’t sure if the author could beat them. Yet, it was the best in the series so far!

I was smitten with Mal and Dave, so I was sure I couldn’t love other member of the band more than them. But shortly after I properly met Jimmy Ferries, the vocalist of Stage Dive, I was not smitten, I was head over heels in love with that man!

Didn’t matter that most of the time, Jimmy was total asshole and freakin’ jerk; that he threw tantrums worse than five year old or that he was out and in rehab… repeatedly. After seeing his softer, ‘normal’ persona, I was all over him like fungus. I totally could understand Lena and her fascination with him.

But even more than I loved Jimmy, I loved Lena. She was the best heroine EVER. So sassy and so full of light, Lena completely stole the show. She made this book shine. Her backbone, wittiness and… her good heart. Wow, I have the biggest girl crush on her!

An arm shot out, wrapping around my neck, pulling me in against him. His whole body trembled.
“You okay?” I asked.
A nod.
“Feeling a little emotional, huh?” I petted his hair. “That’s okay. It was an emotional blow job.”

I can honestly say that I loved every tiny detail. This book have blown me away. The plot was so good, and my love for the characters so strong; I laughed like crazy, I swooned even more, and God, did I melt my panties!

Lead is purely a novel you have to read. No excuses, no wasting time – it’s worth it!
